I'm trying to import my data from Schwab and keep getting a generic error message saying "something unexpected happened". I have been trying for a few days and keep getting the same error. I don't have any issues importing from Chase and Wealthfront. I tried Safari and Chrome and get the same error. Any idea what's going on and how to fix this?

Although you might be able to view or print your information from the website, most banks, brokerages and other financial institutions do not have the data formatted for import into tax software before sometime in February. So if you are wanting to enter it sooner, you have to key it in by hand. Or….wait until it is available for import.
are the import files ready? they are separate from the PDFs which can be downloaded but not imported. for further info contact Schwab.
Im having the same issue. I cant key manually, too many items, this is a deal breaker with TT, I will have to find another service if its not corrected soon.
When I try to import from Charles Swab it says the documents won't be ready to import until Feb 14 for all 1099 forms.
Not till Feb 14th. Then you can import. Not till Feb 14th. Then you can import.
I am having the same problem as all other forms have downloaded fine. Turbotax has been of no help.
Same here it says to wait til Feb 14
Schwab, as well as other brokers, makes PDFs of the tax forms available earlier than the files that are needed to import the data. PDFs can not be imported. saying you have to wait until 2/14, indicates that the files needed for import won't be ready until that time. importing is a direct transfer from the broker's server to your return. No file is created on your computer.
Well, today is Feb 17 and it is still not working.
If you can give the Error Message you receive trying to import, we'll try to help.
In TurboTax Online, you can attach a PDF of your 1099-B; however, in TurboTax Desktop, here's How to Enter a Summary in Lieu of Individual Transactions, which only requires a small amount of data entry.
When importing, make sure TurboTax and Windows are both updated, and temporarily disable all anti-virus software (including modem). Make sure your broker does not require you to allow 'third party access', which you may enable in your broker account, if this applies.
Here's more info on Import Issues.
a recent update removed the error.
the import ability works for me; was available Feb 14
Having an issue as well Feb 17.
Click import, enter schwab log in credentials, everything connects. I see files in my intuit.com account. But, nothing is imported to the tax software.
