Capital gains question

Hello,

If I sell a website I own, how do I know if I can use long term cap gains vs short term?

Do you use the point it started earning money? Or from the point it actually went live?

It depends on the date you purchased the domain. Short-term means you owned the domain for less than a year, and Long-term means you owned the domain for a year or more.
