You may need to upgrade to TT Premier.
I am using TT Premier and cannot access my Schwab account to transfer brokerage info. I input my Schwab user ID and password and cannot get past the I am not a Robot screens. As soon as I ID the first queried image, eg. buses, the screen goes white and I can't proceed. What's with that?
What with it is that it is too soon to import data from a brokerage. They will not have that data ready for import until late January/early February.
Here's Schwab info and dates. Scroll down
But even when you can get the 1099 they might not have the import file ready. And it's common for brokers, etc. to send out a corrected 1099 later. See, there is a second date listed. So don't file too soon.
I am using deluxe
@cbarnold Do you have a question? You can not use Online Deluxe to enter 1099B investment sales or K-1s.
I've had trouble with TT previously. Last year I had to file an amended form when TT incorrectly filed Foreign Taxes. The software was amended, and I then refiled. Every year it seems to have some glitch. I just awaiting the release of our brokerage account on Feb. 13 to finish and file.
Thanks for the help
I have 2024 Premiere and desktop. It says that it has pulled my Fidelity and Schwab brokerage info but it doesn't show up. Pulled my Tastyworks info just fine. Tasty never left the desktop software. Fidelity and Schwab open up a webpage that says "lets get your forms" and when you hit "get forms" it opens up another web window where you put login info. You log in and it says the info has been imported to turbo tax , but it's not there
Did you go to the Form 1099-B section of TurboTax and follow the instructions there for importing from Fidelity and Schwab?
If so, and some of the information is missing, you might try deleting the statement and importing again. If that doesn't capture them all, then you may need to enter the missing transactions yourself via the interview. It's also possible that not all of Fidelity's or Schwab's information documents were included in the import because they are not yet available:
If your financial institution is a TurboTax 1099 Import Partner (which Fidelity Investments is,) you'll likely be able to import your 1099-INT, 1099-DIV, 1099-OID, 1099-R, 1099-NEC, and 1099-MISC (without entries in boxes 8 or 10) by January 31, 2025. And you'll likely be able to import your 1099-B and 1099-MISC (with entries in boxes 8 or 10) by February 15, 2025. If your brokerage issues a consolidated tax statement with several types of 1099s, which is common, you might not be able to import any of your 1099s until February 15, 2025. Since that is today, you might check again tomorrow.
Check here for updates to the Help Article with this information. You can also check with your brokerage directly as to whether all of their information documents are available for import.
You cannot import to Fidelity or Charles Schwab. I had to “skip import” then enter all my info from the 1099’s manually. All my 1099s are complete. Tasty works was the only one that imported. I’m finished with them but there should be note that the process has changed for some brokerages
