Can't open 2022 return. Only file I can download is the 2022.tax file. When opening with TurboTax2022, it asks which state returns to download and I select the one I need, Colorado. It then indicates the file has been downloaded, but when I attempt to open the downloaded file, it returns me to the same screen asking to identify the needed state return to download. I keep selecting Colorado, and I even paid $45 to download it, but it returns me to this alert:
How do I open and save to a PDF my 2022 return containing only the Federal and Colorado state return?

See error 190

After you get the program installed or reinstalled the first thing to do before you open your tax return is to update the program and install any state programs you had. Then open your file. So you first might need to start a fake return to be able to download the state program (go to File-New Tax Return).
Then go to FILE -Open and find your return.
Tried just that: I used TurboTax (desktop app) to select File -> New Tax Return. A windows displays titled Select Tax Return Type. I select my 2022 Form 1040, then select Start. A new window displays stating "Let's Find and Transfer Last Year's Tax Return." I then get a spinning wheel with "Searching for tax files..." until it displays the message "No Tax Files Found." If I select Browse and navigate to my TurbotTax Return file or the TaxReturnFromTTO and select Open, nothing happens. An alert stating Reading Your Return displays for a heartbeat then nothing.
Please advise.
Yeah..BUT...did your 2022 tax file also have an OR form set in it too?
You might only need CO right now, but if the original tax file contains OR data, you will have to load the OR forms too....all before opening your .tax2022 datafile.
So I need to purchase the additional state returns in order to access my 1040 return...that's $45 a state, and I already purchased the CO state return.
So I've purchased all the state returns and received a downloading alert, but when I open the file, it is asking me to amend my 2022 return; I only want the original return filed in 2023. I do not want to amend anything.
Don't know what the issue is there.
When you start the TTX desktop software, there should be a starting screen, where you just select the datafile you want to open. Then open it and look at or print whatever you want.
You might need to talk to Customer support to look at your specific situation, tell them what you've done so far, and lead you thru it
(If you haven't figured it out already)
