Can someone explain to me why I have a schedule W for Michigan and why I can't e-file with it? I've used TurboTax for a few years and never had an issue e-filing returns.

Yes, I'm aware. That's the entire reason I made the post to ask about it. Like I said, I'm confused as to why I have one given that I've never had one before and my job/income has not changed from this year to last.

Schedule W is designed to report State of Michigan income tax withholding. Schedule W enables us to process your individual income tax return more efficiently. Include the completed Schedule W with your return.

I have a different and very ANNOYING situation regarding Schedule W and Turbo Tax and the State of Michigan Return.   In 2023 I did a ROTH Conversion.  This was treated as income on my FED return and worked just fine in to my overall tax calculation.  I recently received a notice from the State of MI that I owe additional taxes for Military or Railroad retirement deductions that were AUTO-POPULATED (incorrectly) in to schedule W of the Michigan return.  First, how would I know this - trusting Turbo Tax NOT to make this mistake, and secondly, WHY did Turbo Tax put this in the wrong place?  It's not too difficult to see this is a ROTH CONVERSION and should be treated as income.  Thus the notice I received was correct in that it was not a deduction (as the software incorrectly inserted in Sched W) but an amount that should have been included in the overall tax liability calculation.   Hours of work here for something that needs to be fixed in the software.
