I paid for Turbotax Premier Online prior to filing because I mistakenly thought that I'd be able to see and edit forms after paying. Now I find out that this is only available with the desktop version. With online, I can only view the forms, not edit. I know that you can transfer an in-progress online return to the desktop version, but can I apply the amount I paid for the online version to the desktop version?

Thanks for the contact info, but that only takes me to a phone robot, who directed me to a refund request form. I have requested a refund, because I haven't been able to find any other options.
What I'd really like to do is just clear the stupid return and start over. Now I have to wait 7 days for someone to review this request, and there's no guarantee that there's a refund coming. I know you can see that I haven't filed my return, because the robot said so. So why can't I clear my return? Or why isn't there a human somewhere who would allow me to switch to the desktop version? I can't submit this tax return as is, because Form 1116 is missing.
Thank you for letting me know. Please visit this Help Article for information on how to clear and start over. Below is a Help Article with information on how to switch from TurboTax Online to TurboTax CD/Download. Please contact TurboTax Customer Support and select the option to speak with an agent to discuss your experience and request a refund.
How do I switch from TurboTax Online to TurboTax CD/Download?
you have to contact TurboTax support, not for a refund, but for a download of the desktop program.
Since you already paid, they will give it to you.
Generally, you don't need to edit/update the Forms directly and doing so can lead to an incorrect tax return.
Generally, the desktop program is a better experience than TurboTax Online except for investments.
