Can I input an insurance claim for a windshield replacement?

You can claim a casualty loss if you are itemizing your taxes and the loss was high enough to cover the reductions the IRS will have you apply to calculate the loss allowed on your return.  However, the amount of your loss would be your actual out of pocket cost.  You cannot claim any amount that your insurance reimbursed you for. Also, any loss is reduced by $100 for each casualty event and then reduced again by 10% of your adjusted gross income.  

In general, small losses after these reductions are not able to be claimed on your tax return.
