Yes. TurboTax makes transferring data hassle-free and with no retyping required. It saves you time and reduces errors. We can even transfer information from other tax software or tax preparers. All you need is a PDF or a tax data file.

How to Import from a .txf file?
NOTE: I edited this post immediately after I read the post by @Cynthiad66.
However, after reading further (including the link), I do not believe all tax information can be transferred unless the tax file is a file formatted in the same manner as TurboTax formats the file.
Perhaps a limited amount of data can be imported from a .txf file, however, but not all of the information from a prior year's return.
How to transfer into Turbo Tax Online, including from a pdf file or other software or from the Desktop program
But a pdf only transfer very basic info like your name and AGI. Be just as easy to manually enter all your info.
There is a difference between importing and transferring. The poster was asking about Transferring from the prior year not importing. Importing is to import your current year info like your W2 or 1099 info from your bank or investments or info from Quicken or QuickBooks, etc. You might be able to import a current year txf file but I'm not sure you can Transfer a prior year txf file.

Nor am I but, from everything I have read here and elsewhere, a user needs a properly (TurboTax) formatted .taxXXXX file in order to transfer an entire prior year return.
Exactly. The best thing to transfer is the actual .tax2021 file from Turbo Tax.
