How do I import from the .txf file?

SOLVEDby TurboTax316Updated January 29, 2024

You can direct-import Quicken 2021, 2022, and 2023 into 2023 TurboTax for Windows, but you'll need to import from the Quicken .txf file if:

  • You're using Quicken 2020 or earlier.
  • You're using TurboTax for Mac (which doesn't support direct import).
  • You're experiencing problems with the direct import.
  • The .txf file was created in other financial software (containing stock trades, for example).

To import your .txf file into your TurboTax software:

  1. Open (continue) your return in TurboTax.
  2. From the TurboTax File menu in the upper-left corner, select Import followed by From Accounting Software (Windows) or From TXF Files (Mac).
  3. Follow the instructions.

Note: Neither TurboTax Online nor TurboTax Business supports imports from the .txf file.
