Can I file as head of household? I am currently separated for almost 2 years, she hasn't paid anything on the house or lived here since Nov 2019.

we have 2 kids, currently we split custody 50/50.  I claim one she claims one but all official documents (school, doctor, and so on) list my house as their primary house.  does this count as unmarried and allow me to file as head of household?

If you qualify as Head of Household, when you enter your filing status (single or married filing separately) into MyInfo, and then enter your qualifying dependent, TurboTax will offer HOH as your filing status.

You can file as Head of Household if you have not lived with your spouse at any time during the last six months of the year, you have paid for over one-half the cost to maintain your home and you have your child as a dependent on your tax return.
