How do I change my filing status?

Marital status/filing status is changed in MY INFO. Click your name and go through the interview questions.

If you have NOT filed the 2024 tax return -

Click on My Info on the left side of the online program screen. Edit your personal information for changing the Filing Status.

Did you already file your return? If not, then you would just go back to the personal info section and say that you do or do not want to file a joint return.

If you already filed a return, then you would need to Amend Your Return in order to change your filing status.
