California Resident - Hawaii K-1 w/ loss

I am a California resident and own a property with a partner thru a Hawaii based LLC.  It had a loss for 2021.  Do I need to file a state income tax in Hawaii?  If not can I still claim loss carry-forwards for losses  from 2021 to 2022.  I am expecting to have income from this property this year.

You would most likely have to file a return in order to preserve the loss carryforward.

Check with the state taxing authority.
