Are you referring to AGI or are you filing for Innocent Spouse Relief? Please feel free to post any additional details or questions in the comment section.

Assuming the two of you are filing together for the first time in 2017 (congratulations by the way!), you'll want to enter the adjusted gross income (AGI) from each spouse's originally filed 2016 return.

Don't combine your 2016 AGIs into a single figure, as this is guaranteed to cause a rejection. We'll ask for both of your 2016 AGI amounts when you get to the AGI input screen.

Also, it doesn't matter if a spouse filed jointly in 2016 with somebody else. Use the AGI—no matter what the filing status was or who earned the income—from the return filed by that person in 2016.

If you and/or your spouse didn’t file last year and you’re in TurboTax, just tell us you didn’t file last year when we ask you. But if you’ve already entered a number for your AGI, manually enter 0 instead.

Thank you for your quick response! I just don't know where to get my spouse's AGI from. Would I have to log out of my turbotax that I'm in the middle of finishing, log into his and find it somewhere? Why can't I just link my turbotax and his? My AGI auto populated from my last year's info.

If he filed with TurboTax last year, logging into his account is an option. Easy if you have his UserID and password. Not so easy if you don't. If you know and have access to his email, you can use this to recover his login: https://myturbotax.intuit.com/account-recovery/..., here's a link to find his AGI from a hardcopy or pdf: http://intuit.me/2n8DViH Thanks and good luck!

Did you get married in 2020 and are filing a Joint return? You need to enter both of your Single AGI to efile.

You need your 2019 AGI to efile 2020. The AGI is on 2019 1040 line 8b.

How to find the AGI.

If you didn't file 2019 or filed it later in the year then try entering 0 for the AGI. If that doesn't work you will have to print and mail your return.
