Are Turbo tax downloads compatible for a Surface Pro ?

@onoahu   You have posted onto a very very old discussion.   For others finding this thread,

You may need to switch out of S mode.  See this Windows FAQ.  The second item is how to switch out.

Windows 10 and Windows 11 in S mode FAQ - Microsoft Support

Switching out of S mode is one-way. If you switch out of S mode, you'll need to keep using the standard version of Windows 11.

Are Turbo tax downloads compatible for a Surface Pro ?

Just an update, windows wasn't in S mode so when I installed so didn't have any problems.

BUT I cannot open any .tax files, even new tax files created while running TT on surface.

Once I changed the emulation compatability mode to strict and the file save/load seems to work fine.

@VolvoGirl

Yeah, this is an old thread.   But, the question raised elsewhere recently was the question about whether or not Desktop TTX would work on the newest Microsoft Surface laptops that are running almost exclusively using the Snapdragon processors.  Older Surface laptops have been using intel i5, i7 and i9 processors, and  TTX Staff and Windows System FAQs seem to have no indication as to whether non-intel CPUs will be compatible with TTX desktop software.    I'm just guessing that they should, since they are still "Windows" systems, but the various manufacturer's push to on-board AI CPUs makes any of us who are buying new computers....well, nervous about the software compatibility for any software we are comfortable working with.
