How can I get a confirmation number for e-filing? My work asked to the second page of 1040EZ that includes an e-file confirmation number.

There is no confirmation number for e-filing a tax return using TurboTax since your tax return is self-prepared using the TurboTax software.  The Form 1040EZ does not have a second page, it is only a one page tax return.

Then click on the blue link "Show E-File History".  Then print the screen.

Here is the language they used in their request: "Federal tax return acceptable documentation: Includes forms 1040, 1040A, 1040EZ. Include BOTH page1 and page 2 of the tax return. Page 2 must include signatures or an e-file confirmation number. "mark out" all financial information and the first 5 digits of all social security numbers."

Pages 1 and 2 are only for Forms 1040 and 1040A.  There is only one page on a Form 1040EZ.
If they want a printed tax return with a signature, then just print the Form 1040EZ , sign and date the form in the signature block.
To access your current or prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the userID you used to create the account - <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="https://myturbotax.intuit.com/">https://myturbotax.intuit.com/</a>
Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and on the section Your tax returns & documents click on Show.  Click on the Year and Click on Download/print return (PDF)

An e-file confirmation number would be provided to you if you used a paid tax professional to e-file your tax return.  The TurboTax software is not a paid tax professional.  It is only tax preparation software to assist you in completing your Self-Prepared tax return.

One last question--just curious to know. If Turbotax files on your behalf, can it submit the forms with the signature field left blank? How does the IRS verify that this is indeed sent by you? Thanks

When a tax return is e-filed your electronic signature is the AGI that you filed in the prior tax year.  So on the 2017 tax return you would have entered the 2016 AGI or if a 2016 tax return was not filed by you then the 2016 AGI entered would be a 0 (zero)

TurboTax requires a verification code before e-filing the tax return.  It is not the same thing as a confirmation number.

 Since you said "software," are you using desktop software (CD/download) and being asked for a state efile confirmation number?
