I accidentally said my 1099B was a summary of sales instead of individual stock sold (it is just individual). I filed and now form 8453 is requested. Is there a way to fix this? Do I need to still fill out and mail forms 8453 and 8949 (shouldn't the IRS have my 1099B so they can see that it was an error)? Thanks.

Your safest bet is to send in an 1040X to amend the tax form you sent in. That will give you a thorough paper trail.
I looked at 1040x but it seems like it's just numbers. No numbers have changed, just that my 1099B was from sale of a single stock rather than a summary. Would I still need to send a 8453?
Depending on the amount of gain or loss, there may be no difference in your tax liability when amending.
See this TurboTax FAQ for help with amending.
