A depostit from TPG Product was WAY low

I received my tax refund deposit from TPG, and it was $1,500 less than the refund amount on my return, less all TurboTax fees.  This is shocking as that is significant.

Please help.

Thank you,

Is the amount sent/issued by the IRS the same as the refund amount shown on your federal tax return Form 1040 Line 35a? - https://www.irs.gov/refunds

If not, then go to this IRS website for information on reduced refunds - https://www.irs.gov/taxtopics/tc203

Are you also receiving a state tax refund? If so, the state refund is sent directly to you based on how you chose to receive the state tax refund, it does not go through the third party processor.
Use this TurboTax support FAQ to check the state tax refund status - https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1899433-how-do-i-track-my-state-refund

Have you factored in the TurboTax account fees and the TPG service charge of $40 plus any applicable sales tax?
Review your TurboTax account fees -
Sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/
Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and on the section Your tax returns & documents click on View Order Details

If you requested to have the TurboTax account fees deducted from your federal tax refund, the IRS will send the refund to a third party processor to have the fees and the service charge deducted. The third party processor will deduct the TurboTax fees plus the service charge and then attempt to direct deposit the remaining refund balance into the account that you entered on your tax return.

For the status of your tax refund you will need to contact the third party processor, Santa Barbara Tax Product Group, using their website - https://www.sbtpg.com/

Thank you for the response, however, all of the suggestions which you provided have been addressed. There are no other balances owed, and a service fee of $1,500 to SBTG is not acceptable. I have been using turbo tax for  many years and this has not happened before.  I dont think that a company like TurboTax wants to affiliate with a partner like this.

I could still use your help.

A depostit from TPG Product was WAY low

Over the past couple of years there have been issues with the Santa Barbara Tax Products Group where some of the users that selected to have the TurboTax account fees paid from the federal tax refund have received less than the full amount of their refund after the fees have been deducted.

The service charge from TPG is $40 so the amount that is missing is not their service fee.  For some reason, only known to TPG, the full amount of the refund was not deposited into your account.

No one on this forum can assist with this problem.  Even if you contact TurboTax support there is nothing they can do about this either.  Only you can pursue this with TPG.

I know this is not the answer you are looking for and personally I wish that TurboTax would not offer this option to any of their users but that is not my call.

If you cannot get any satisfaction by contacting TPG directly, my suggestion would be to use the email address to contact Green Dot Bank, the owner of SBTPG - TPG-CSsupport@greendotcorp.com

A TurboTax support person can look and see how much the IRS sent to SBTSG.  The IRS will send you a letter explaining if it withheld funds or changed your refund amount.  Good luck with getting this straightened out.
