It is turbo tax. I having been using Turbo Tax since 2011 and never had an issue, until this year.. I use a 2018 Mac desktop. The soft ware would not open either in the download version or the disc version. I called Apple. Apple was great, it has to do with emptying cache. It now works and Apple saved the day. If you use Apple call their support line. I requested a call back and they called back when they said they were going to.
Cannot open my 2020turbo tax
on line version
Are you receiving any error messages? @Dakota2012.
I downloaded TurboTax 2021 from a CD in Windows 10, but when I try to run it, I get an endless "Please give us a moment as we get things ready" message. I also tried downloading it over the internet with the same result. Am running as administrator. Have shutdown security program and Windows Firewall but same result. Computer has 32 GB of RAM and lots of disk space.
Similarly, I cannot run older versions of TurboTax even though I am not aware of any changes to computer since they ran previously. Have wasted hours on this. Any suggestions?
Please follow the instructions here to manually update the software.
Please let us know if you need further assistance. @NDunck
My problem is not with trying to update the program - I haven't progressed that far.
I am just trying to run the program I downloaded. When I click on it, it lists a message "Please give us a moment as we get things ready ....", but it never progresses past that point.
Nick
Please first start by checking the CD/Download System Requirements just to ensure that you are in optimal position to run the software. Additionally, you may review these troubleshooting steps @NDunck.
Love how mac users ask for help getting a TT file to open or issues where TT wants you to download the State file and instructions and help for Windows is offered. Do reps from TT read? Can they read ad comprehend? The original poster was using a mac!
