2020 returns not scanned by irs

I did my 2020 taxes using turbotax and mailed the federal and state returns in with a check for each. The checks were deposited. Last month I got a CP80 notice that my account had a credit for the check I mailed but they did not have a return to go with it. After numerous attempts, I got through to an agent that said they were behind scanning the documents and not to worry.

Today I used turbo tax and electronically filed because I was due refunds for both Federal and state. They both got rejected because my AGI didn't match what was in their database. That would be zero because they still havent scanned it. What can I do to get them to scan my 2020 return?

Nothing you can do.   Did you efile 2021 using 0 for the AGI?  That works for most people.

The IRS sent out a lot of letters.  The last couple years were a mess and the IRS got way behind processing returns.

Thanks I will try that. What happens once they do scan my 2020 return?  The amount isn’t 0.

Oh, one more question. I owe money on the State and elected to have it drawn from my checking account. Will I have to set that up again when refilling with 0 as AGI
