Question

1099-G

I filed my 2020 return in February when 1099-G income was taxable.  I am now amending my return, but TurboTax has already increased my refund for the now non-taxable nature of the 1099-G income, before I clicked on amend return.  However, I have not filed to receive that refund back from the IRS and TruboTax reset my refund to $0 when I started the amendment process.  How do I get TurboTax to show the tax previously paid on the 1099-G as refund due rather than the current status of refund previously received?

Here is why you do NOT amend your federal return for unemployment:

Please read this very recent news from the IRS:

Thanks!  I have additionally items for Amendment, but now I can disregard the 1099-G issues. 🙂
