1095-A, Column C -- Cannot enter ZERO

I have nothing to enter for Column C, 1095-A.  I have tried to enter 0.00, .01, and leaving the boxes completely blank, but TT keeps asking me to put in a number, but I have nothing to report for Column C.

 

(I understand that I had to pull numbers for Column B from healthcare.gov, but I do not understand why Turbo Tax will not let me advance to the next screen without putting in a number above zero.

1095-A, Column C -- Cannot enter ZERO

You should leave the boxes for column C blank if they are zero. Try back spacing where you enter the amount to make sure the cell is clear.

 

You could also try logging out of the program and logging back in. You can also clear your cache and cookies. Sometimes doing this will improve the functionality of the program.

You may also try using another browser. 

 

If you are still having the issue you can delete your Form 1095-A and reenter it.

 

If you need to delete your Form 1095-A you can:

In TurboTax Online:

  1. Continue your return
  2. In your left panel go to "Tax Tools"
  3. Then go to "Tools"
  4. In your right panel of your TurboTax screen you will see "Tools Center"
  5. Click on "Delete of Form" under "Other Helpful Links"
  6. You will see a list of your forms click on "Delete" next to your Form 1095-A

 

If you are using TurboTax Desktop:

  1. Click on "Forms" at the top right of your TurboTax screen
  2. (This will switch you to "Forms Mode")
  3. In your left panel on your screen under "Forms in My Return
  4. Click on "Form 1095-A", it will display in your right panel of your TurboTax screen
  5. At the bottom left of your Form 1095-A select "Delete Form"

 

Once you delete your Form 1095-A you can reenter it as follows:

  1. Open your return.
  2. Click on the search icon at the top right of your screen.
  3. Type "1095-A" in the search box
  4. Click on the link "Jump to 1095-A"
  5. Answer "yes" to "Did you receive Form 1095-A for your health insurance plan?
  6. Select "Continue"
  7. Enter your information on the screen "Let's get the info from your 1095-A Form"
