My 1040 Line 10 taxable income = 10,687. In the IRS tax table for 2018, it indicates that the tax amount is 1,109 for singles. Why on my line 11 it says 2,377?

Look to the left of line 11 and see if there is any other amounts listed on 11a or 11b. Or schedule 2. It won't show the amount on 11 but just adds it in.
No, my box 1 is 22687. I earned about 4000 from working and this was reported in my W2, but the rest was unearned income from grants/scholarships because I am a student. I am also claimed as a dependent. Do any of these circumstances contribute to the value I received in line 11?
