$10 credit: can it be used to get a disc version of TT?

Please see this link to purchase a TurboTax Desktop CD after you have downloaded the product.

As for the $10 credit, if it's from a tax refund, that cannot be used to purchase a CD as that payment is coming from the taxing agency.
