Gym membership deduction

You must first qualify this as a medical expense :

  • Your doctor must first  diagnose you with a specific medical condition that makes  gym membership a  medically necessary .treatment.
  • You must have written proof from your doctor of your gym membership being "prescribed" to treat your specific  condition
  • You must not have previously (before your diagnosis} held a gym membership . .
  • Once you have qualified this as a medical expense ,please follow this link for information on how to claim a medical expense.https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/tax-tips/Tax-Deductions-and-Credits/-Can-I-Claim-Medical-Expen...
