Why isn't my wife's income while in a foreign country not included in the foreign earned income credit?

You have to include more details -- your immigration status ( citizen/resident/? ) and that of your wife; are you filing joint; is her employer a local foreign entity or ?;  which country; are you still there  or have you returned to USA, was she with you the whole time or only part of the time; was this your first year in a foreign country etc.  The more details you provide ( NO Personally Identifiable Information, please ) the more focused  the answer can be
