That must be for state tax return as that is not available on a federal tax return.  What state?

There is a Mortgage Interest Credit that can be claimed on a federal tax return.  However it is not common, that is why this first did not click.
Do you have a a mortgage credit certificate (MCC) from your state or local government. These certificates are issued as part of state and local government programs to help people buy a home.

Yes, I have the certificate. This is the program I have (save up to $2k on interest paid/year). I am just having a heck of a time finding out how to utilize this within turbotax.

Enter mortgage interest credit (qualified mortgage credit certificate holders) in the Search box located in the upper right of the program screen.  Click on Jump to mortgage interest credit (qualified mortgage credit certificate holders)
