Thank you, my refund amount is less than the credit. It does say it on my 1040 form but it says my total refund is less than the credit by itself.
So some of the credit went towards an actual tax liability. You must not have had enough tax withheld to cover income completely. No need to with kids and the credit. It just means you don't get it all, instead it is going toward your tax bill.
