Why isn't the current year tax cut Deluxe asking for the purchase date of the house when it asks for the sell by date?

Showing a large tax owed because the program is automatcally  putting the sold date as the purchase date.

The Home Sale section of the program askes for both the Sales Date and Sales Price along with the Purchase Date and Purchase Price.  The program does not change the date you entered.
