Double check your own data entries and see if you have a typo, misplaced decimal or added a zero somewhere when you entered your income. If you entered a W-2 look at boxes 16 and 17.

If you are claiming your child or children as dependents you may qualify for the Earned Income Credit, Dependent Care Credit, Child Tax Credit, and others. No typo, No W2 - I've looked deeper and Turbotax has taken the $8000 IRA distribution that I placed in the Federal portion and moved it to New York State as State Tax Withheld so wants to give me the entire 8 grand back. I think some code correction might be in order. Thanks for replying though.

There may have been an error entering your Form 1099-R for you IRA Distribution.
Try deleting your Form(s) 1099-R and reentering them. After reentering them pay close attention to any followup questions or prompts.
