No, if TurboTax didn't calculate the Earned Income Credit (EIC) on your tax return, you either don't qualify, or you answered something wrong on the interview questions.

If you think that you qualify, you should review your entries for your dependents and for the credit itself in TurboTax. Here's how to do that:

  1. Open your return, and select My info.
  2. Scroll down until you see your dependent's name.
  3. Select Edit.
  4. Carefully review the information in this section.
  5. When you are done reviewing your dependents, select Deductions & Credits, then select Start or Edit to the right of Earned Income Credit.
  6. Answer the questions on the next few screens according to your situation.
  7. You will get a message at the end of the section explaining your results.

If you still have questions, please respond back with more details about your situation.

Yes,

if it turns out that you answered something in error, did not get the EIC but you are eligible for that credit, you can amend and get that additional refund.

Here is a link on how to amend using TurboTax.

Please wait until your original return has been processed.
