Which year am I required to start energy credits for PV system installed 12/17 on a loan paid off in 2018?

PV system installed 2017 purchased on a loan. One payment made in January 2017, paid off in February 2017. Can I wait to start the two-year credit in 2018 or do I have to start in 2017? I'd rather start in 2018, if possible.

The credit begins in the year of the installation and when the system is ready and available for use, 2017 in your case.

The credit begins in the year of the installation and when the system is ready and available for use, 2017 in your case.
