How can you verify if the information for excise tax deductible carried into the state tax form successfully?
If you reported the Indiana Excise Tax for your vehicle in the Deductions section (Personal Property Tax) of your Federal Return and itemized your deductions on Schedule A, your AGI (which includes Schedule A deductions) is carried over to start your Indiana return, so you have received the deduction in your state return. If you purchased a vehicle in 2025, remember to report your Sales Tax in your Federal Deductions also.
However, if you don't itemize deductions in your Federal return, you won't be able to claim the excise tax separately in your Indiana return in TurboTax.
