What if I had a HDHP in all of 2019, but no HDHP in 2020?

We had a HDHP in 2019. We switched to a Healthshare in 2020. Turbotax is asking: "What type of health coverage did you have on December 1, 2019?" I marked "Family" as our HDHP coverage ended 12/31/2019. But we did NOT have a HDHP in 2020, and do not have a 1095 form or a 8889-T form.  When I "smart check" my return I get an error for blank entries on a 8889-T form. Any idea how to fix this?

Because you did not have a HDHP in 2020, you do not need the 8889-T that TurboTax has generated based on your 2019 return.

Go through your medical deductions and make sure that the question about HDHP is not checked Yes for you or your wife.

Then delete the 8889-T form.

Sign in to TurboTax on a browser

Go to Tax Tools, Tools, Delete a Form

Delete the 8889-T
