We live in missouri but bought a vehicle in Kansas-Leavenworth area, do I count Kansas state sale tax or Missouri? Also where do I put this on turbotax?

We purchased a vehicle in Kansas-Leavenworth area in 2017 but we live in Missouri. We tagged the vehicle in Missouri. Where do I count the sales tax? Do I count sale tax percentage for Kansas or Missouri? Also would like to know where to specifically put that in on my turbotax sheet?

Thanks

You include both the sales tax and registration fees on your federal and MO return. Here is how in TurboTax:

Under Deductions & Credits

Scroll to Car Registration Fees to include the fees you paid to register the vehicle in MO

Then scroll down to Estimates and Other Taxes Paid

Click the down arrow to Show More

Select Sales Tax to enter the sales tax you paid to Kansas
