when i click update on property tax, i jumps to a blank screen.

Try this instead. 

Go to the Federal section of the return.

1. Go to the Federal section in the left panel
2. Select "Deductions & Credits"
3. Go to All tax breaks, select "Your Home"
4. Select "Property (Real Estate) Taxes

that is essentially what i did, except my screen looks somewhat different, and it just says 'property taxes' not 'Property (Real Estate) Taxes'. you must be using a different version of TT.

what does 'links to members, content' mean ?

Property taxes and property real estate taxes are the same thing.  If you see this section, you are good to go!

If you are using the desktop version, your screen will look like this:

yes, i am using the desktop version. my screen looks like your example, except it shows my 2018 value and the button on the right says update instead of start, but when i click update, i just get a blank screen.

btw, i was able to enter my real estate taxes in the state section, but it didn't change the fed section.

I am having the exact same issue. Did you find a fix for it?

i spent a couple of hours on the phone with a TT support agent and now it is working, but i really don't know why. we couldn't get Glance, their screen share app, to work, so we tried a bunch of things. she had me turn off the windoze firewall and a couple other control panel things, but i don't think that made any difference.  she thinks TT got updated in the process, but i have updated TT several times and nothing we did today looked anything like the usual update process. i normally run as a standard user, but we first got it working while i was logged in as administrator. now i am back to running as standard user and it is working.
