if I work for Domino's pizza as a delivery person and receive a W2 form, why can't I deduct my gas expense?

Unfortunately, you can't take this deduction anymore, since you're an employee who receives a Form W-2.

Job-related expenses for employees are no longer deductible under the new tax law. Please see the TurboTax FAQ "Can employees deduct any job-related expenses?" below for more information.
