Really... Do we have to enter the Uber business expenses? Ive tried , so far, two tax programs thinking I'm doing something wrong. My son is a single parent of two, on disability and a full time student with an estranged deadbeat spouse. She doesnt even try to see her gradeschool children let alone pay for any of their needs. What is he supposed to do? This is ridiculous. I dont know if his depression can take another hit. Really.

Self-employment taxes an additional 15.3%. The rate consists of two parts: 12.4% for social security (old-age, survivors, and disability insurance) and 2.9% for Medicare (hospital insurance).
