TurboTax shows close to double the property tax amount I have entered.

If you entered the Property Tax information in both the Mortgage Interest section and the Property Tax section of Deductions and Credits, this might be the reason why it has doubled. I would double-check both of these sections to make sure that this value has only been entered once.
