Thanks all.
I also got the same CLCO TY21 Scd D AMT Lines 7 and 15. I opened my final TY21 file and found values for 7 and 15.
Additionally, SmartCheck rendered these other errors:
"CLCO TY21 Form 6251 Line 4 must be entered". My final TY21 file DID NOT include a Form 6251.
"CLCO TY22 CLCO Wkst Row A AMT must be entered". A similar message for "Row B AMT" was generated. My final TY22 file did not include said worksheet at all. However, the TY23 CLCO Worksheet, Scd D line 6 and 14 has data in AMT columns Row A and B. I suppose I'll just use those and rerun Smart Check.
I've never used AMT. If I did not run it in TY21 could that be the cause?
How did you get to direct TT tech/Employee Tax Expert? I would send them "diagnostic tax file" depending on effort required. It certainly does appear to be a coding error.
I never file early as I have to pay....
What Checkbox are you speaking of?
The would seem logical. The issue seems to only affect AMT, which I ran, but never used.
Same here.
If your prior year returns do not include the carryover worksheets or forms indicated by the SmartCheck message, enter zero for all missing values. Those entries should clear the forms errors.
I'll try that in about a week... give TT Experts a chance to respond.
How did you change the Yes to a No on that question? I just can't find it, it's like auto selected for me.
Open the Capital Loss Carryover worksheet and go to the bottom and you will see the TY21-TY22 conversion ATM capital loss carryover adjustment smart worksheet. There you will see the Yes and NO. Just select NO. That should work for you.
For those of you who are using the online turbotax and want to do this you can download the pc version of 2021 turbotax online by
1) click your tax returns & documents at bottom of tax home page
2) select 2021
3) select amend
4) choose to download that years version - it processes it and charges you $0 to download
5) download your tax file from 2021 (download .tax file)
6) Install pc version of TT and open. (It prompted me to download my state at that point as well)
Then follow the previous instructions posted to generate the 2021 worksheet
Don't you have to pay for TurboTax Desktop?
I'm using TurboTax Premium online. How do I go about figuring out all this AMT and worksheet stuff without giving Intuit even more money for data that they should have transferred themselves? I've been using TurboTax for years. They already have all this info that they are asking for.
I have premium online. What I posted combined with the previous post allows you to do what you want.
TT premium allowed me to download that year for free (2021) and I was able to use what the other user posted to go to 2021 and have it draw up the worksheet
Are you saying I have to go back and amend my previous year returns?
If you're doing this in TurboTax Online and you aren't 100% sure about the numbers, DO NOT pay or print your tax return or you'll be locked out from making any further changes to this form. The only way to input these numbers is when the Online version throws you the errors during the "Review" step, so if you put in the wrong numbers and realize later, you need to hit "Clear & Start Over" and completely re-enter everything in order to throw the error again so you can input the correct numbers. Found this out the hard way and spent 4 hours on the phone with support to find out that they have NO ability to disable this.
