Self-employed unemployment

Last year I received self-employed unemployment as part of the Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA).  I claimed the unemployment received on my taxes, but the IRS sent me a refund check during the summer saying those checks were exempt.  This year I received additional PUA as part of the extended coverage.  Are these payments exempt again?  How do I claim those or how do I handle those if they are exempt again this year?

No.  The 10,200 unemployment exclusion was only for 2020.  You need to enter the 1099G unemployment on your return.

You can  type  unemployment   into the search box at the top of your return and hit find.  It should give you a Jump To link to take you right to it.

Or Enter a 1099G for unemployment under

Federal on left
