Can I deduct an adult child's medical expenses and education expenses?

No, you cannot claim this on your taxes. She is not a dependent. There is no financial deduction available for paying for your daughter's dental bill. If it were reported as a gift, which you are supposed to do for any amount over $16,000, there is still no deduction for gifting money to your daughter. The gift tax form 709 just reports that money was given.

Gifts to family members are not deductible, nor are they taxable for the person who receives the gift.  You can give up to $16,000 to an individual without having to report the gift on a form 709 for gift tax.
