Unable to e-file: QBI Passive Carryforward error?

I am unable to e-file after completing my returns, due to the following error.  I tried to look at the referenced Schedule E worksheet, but could not see any fields to update so that the error would clear.  Any suggestions appreciated, as I'd rather not have to wait for "This will be enabled in a subsequent release.", if at all possible.

Turbotax 2019 Error

Schedule E Worksheet (property address): QBI Passive Carryforward - There are one or more disallowed/suspended loss values on this Form/Worksheet (although this field may be blank).  These are not yet fully supported by the program.  This will be enabled in a subsequent release.

Unable to e-file: QBI Passive Carryforward error?

We have the same issue when filing. For us it looks like line G passive carryover loss. I am not sure but it’s worded like this is a turbo tax error not a user error

I'm not glad someone else is having this problem too but I am glad to know I'm not alone in having it. It'd be great if we'd hear confirmation on whether it's a software issue because that's how i read it too. (Not to mention I gave not been able to put any number in the box that would solve the issue).

The QBI has a current expected release date of February 5, 2020. The state and federal governments approve the most common forms first and work their way down the list. Please see the links for form availability. Once a date shows up, the reality should be close. Once released, Turbo Tax will work quickly to get it working in the program. QBI is near the bottom of the federal list. Please check the link for updates. Once released, Turbo Tax needs time to put it in the system.

Unable to e-file: QBI Passive Carryforward error?

I read the federal form availability date: 8995-A is 2/5/20; and 8995 is available now.

My 2019 return (TT H&B) involves form 8995, not 8995-A. I have a negative QBI. And the form 8995 itself  does not flag any error. My error actually occurs on Schedule E Wks: under Activity Summary Smart Worksheet, Line G, under QBI column, it has an negative QBI number (and it was flagged error -- with yellow background and red number).

Does this have anything to do the 8995-A form not available yet, or it's something else.

Thanks

Hi Amy,

Is there a work around for this or do I need to wait until 2/5/2020 to file?

Please wait patiently for the IRS and Turbo Tax to get things done right.

Ok, thanks. And the estimated date in this just to be clear is 2/5/2020?

The estimated date is just that. Until the IRS does their final release.

Here is the link to the Federal form availability. QBI is near the bottom. Once released, Turbo Tax works quickly to incorporate and test before releasing to you, the consumer.
