Wondering how to get the stimulus payment for my child born in 2021? Is there something I have to input when I file through TurboTax or how does this work? Does it automatically go on there?

When you get to the end of tax preparation you should click on "federal review".  The program will say "Let's make sure you got the right stimulus amount" at which point you're going to enter in the amount that you actually received.  The program will then add in the amount for your new child as part of your refund or reduction in taxes due.

Be sure you said the new baby lived with you the WHOLE YEAR!  Go back and check that.

If you had a child born in 2021- Add them under My Info. You need to answer 2 questions…..

Did your child live with you for the whole year? Answer YES even if they were born late in the year (even on Dec 31).

Then was at least half of child's expenses paid by CHILD? Usually is NO.
