This is a job-related expense.
Up to tax year 2017, job-related expenses were deductible as an itemized deduction subject to the 2% of AGI floor.
Under the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, the itemized deductions for job-related expenses subject to the 2% of AGI floor are suspended for expenses incurred after December 31, 2017 through 2025.
Therefore, your job-related expense is no longer deductible for tax year 2020.
Where do I put professional development and professional dues
well, that stinks. I need the continuing ed. courses to retain professional certificate.
And can anyone tell me why a rep. said they would call but NEVER did.
@mlmarsouin Some states allow the deduction of employee expenses. You may be able to claim it on your state return. You can enter the expenses in the federal section. It will carry to your state, if allowed.
