Hi all,
I've been trying to figure this out and have been stuck. I got married in August. With the stimulus that came in the spring, we were both single, and based on the previous year's taxes, I was not eligible for the stimulus, but my husband was. He never received it.
Now, when we file our taxes in a month or so, we are married filing jointly, with a taxable income of about 140k. This puts us beneath the income limit for married filing jointly. Do we get just his missed credit of 1400? Or do we get the married credit of 2800?

You should get the 2800 on line 30. But if the IRS thinks they already sent his out they will reduce your return. You should check his account at the IRS to see if it shows he got it.

Thank you! Yes, I tried to look back in his bank account, but since we switched banks, I couldn't check his old statements. I'll have to get him to check the IRS account. Thanks for the help!
