For some reason Turbo Tax will not allow me to enter an amount for prescription drugs.
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
It Depends.
If you are able to itemize your deductions as opposed to taking the standard deduction, you may be able to take a deduction for your unreimbursed medical expenses.
The deduction is limited to qualified medical expenses which exceed 7.5% of your Adjusted Gross Income.
I recommend you go back and just continue to add your deductions in the program until you have entered them all.
You can do this by going to the Personal Tab.
Once you select Done with Deductions, select continue and it will tell you which deduction you are getting, whether it be standard or itemized. It may be possible you are hitting enter and it is selecting the Done with Deductions button.
The problem was not tax law it was the turbotax program. The program would not allow me to enter a number until I held down on the place where you enter a number and a sub schedule came up and allowed enter for both myself and my spouse. Without using the sub schedule you could not enter a number. I received help from Tek Support.
