So due to the changes on the new W-4 on my 1st paycheck of the year there was a CREDIT for $58.11 on the line for Federal Income Tax. Payroll said it’s due to the changes to the W-4 form and they can’t tell me anything else. I want taxes taken out to insure I don’t owe and to make sure I get a good refund next year. I file Head of Household and claim my 2 kids. Can anyone PLEASE help.

I’m in the same situation as you. HOH And 2 children and don’t know what to claim dodo you figure this out ?
On the new 2020 W4, there is a line to have extra withholding sent into the government every pay period. If you go down to Line 4c Extra Withholding. Enter any additional tax you want withheld each pay period, you can enter the extra amount you want to be withheld from each paycheck.
I would fill out the rest of the W4 normally first. Then, for example, if you want to have an extra $520 withheld for the year and you are paid every other week, divide the $520 by the 26 paychecks that you receive every year and you come up with a $20 figure to enter into Line 4c.
You can also use the IRS withholding estimator to give you a more accurate measure of your withholding.
