The fist time home owner credit originated in 2007 and often carried a repayment provision allowing you to pay it back over a period of 15 years.
To find out if you still own on it, you would have to determine what the original credit was and see how much you paid back so far. If you hadn't accelerated any of the payments, then you very well may still owe on it.
getting this reject on a return where the previous residence was purchased in 1988 and sold in 2020. new residence purchased in 2019. no credit was ever received.
@wickham732 You should have received an email an email regarding the rejection. Be sure to check your spam/junk folder for this email. See this TurboTax FAQ for more information. If you need further assistance, contact customer support here.
Received a reject explanation that included a link that did not work. Went back through the entire interview and then clicked help for the issue and then jumped to a page not previously seen where I could click a box saying I never received this credit. Resubmitted and so far it had been accepted. Thank you
This did not apply to my situation but was finally able to click a box stating that credit had never been claimed. Bought house in 1988 and sold in 2020.
