Thank you so much for this question and answer! I was going crazy trying to figure out why it wasn't updating! Personally I think this is a poor way to handle the Cares Act charitable contributions - I am guessing most people just update their list of charitable contributions the way we always have and don't realize it doesn't update the 1040.
I agree completely. This is a poor way to handle updating the amount given to charities. It should be all in one place.
