In the review of my federal taxes, the mortgage interest keeps coming up even after I enter all the questions, how do I get it resolved?

I've marked it isn't a HELOC or a refinance and that it is secured by the home the loan is for, but it goes into an endless loop that states needs review...

I'm getting the same error! It's an endless loop!

Have you tried deleting the mortgage 1098 and reentering? Dumb statement, I know. But it seems to help situations like yours. Might be a good idea to delete the 1098, log off to clear things out before reentering the data.

That message will not prevent e-filing.   If you are itemizing (mortgage interest isn't included if you take the standard deduction), check Schedule A to confirm your mortgage interest is included on Line 10 of Schedule A.  This amount goes to your From 1040, Line 12 (standard or itemized deduction).   Mortgage interest is not included with your tax return if you are taking the standard deduction.

If you are taking the standard deduction, or you have confirmed your mortgage interest is included on Schedule A, you can file your tax return; the Needs Review message is not an error and will not prevent e-filing.
